Handpicked

This third year university project allowed me to create any form of visual outcome, that communicated a personal annoyance. I chose to produce an illustrative typeface called Handpicked. This alphabet documents one of my greatest pet peeves, when people pick their fingers.

This type acts as a means to express something that bothers me, but also as playful illustrations that encourage people who do pick their fingers due to anxiousness, to try and stop.

In its simplest form, Handpicked is a series of playful postcards and posters, created for decorative purposes. However, my hope is for Handpicked to become a campaign, focused on supporting young adults who suffer with anxiety. My typeface would be used as part of the visual language for a wider collection of touchpoints, such as a logo, website, and informational content.
